UP & AWAY, HTHMA - 2019/20 CAMPAIGN
Founded in 2005, High Tech High Media Arts is an outstanding project-based learning high school in San Diego, CA. HTHMA serves approximately 400 students in grades 9-12. It incorporates all of the HTH design principles with a college-going culture, and a strong liberal arts and sciences foundation.
As we settle into fall, a traditional season of gratitude, we invite you to donate to the annual Up & Away, HTHMA campaign. It's a great way to celebrate and support our school. Our goal is to raise $15,000 so that we can enrich the school experience our children receive beyond what the basic budget can provide.
For 2019/20 we have 3 specific goals:
- HTHMA's English and Humanities teachers are incredibly passionate about supporting the interests and academic growth of our children. We want to fill their class libraries with relevant new books so they can create inspired, literature-rich classrooms and curricula for our students. They have waited patiently while we've funded computers and other technology. Now is the perfect time to make this serious investment in our school-wide Humanities program. Cost: $10,000
- We hope to beautify the exterior of our school to create an attractive and welcoming entrance for our students, teachers, families, and visitors. The vision is to add oversized planters with drought-friendly flora and benches to the third floor landing and breezeway. It will provide a huge boost in school pride to update and enhance the facade of our 15 year old facility. Cost: $2,500
- Our Parent Association needs funding (and amazing volunteers) to host the annual "Welcome Back, Juniors" breakfast in February; Graduation Week brunch for our Seniors in June; hospitality for graduation and monthly "Insights with Isaac" meetings; testing snacks for our students; Teacher Appreciation Week; and meals for our staff so they can focus on Back To School Night, SLC's, and Exhibition Night. All of these programs add up! Cost: $2,500

Your financial support and "shares" to spread the word are greatly appreciated.
Our returning HTHMA families raised a record $15,135 in 2018/19 for the first ever Up & Away campaign. With those funds we were able to buy desperately needed laptops and create a new photo studio. We can reach this amazing milestone once again with an average donation of $40 per student. No donation is ever too small (or too big!). Our most important goal is to have the support of every school family. Together we will take HTHMA to new heights.
